Il Quartiere della Piccola Italia di Montreal! Le Quartier de la Petite Italie de Montréal+ Jean-Talon Market

Wondering what to do on a cold March day?!

Visit Little Italy and Le Marché Jean-Talon! Foodies, shoppers and cultural thrill-seekers should certainly take the metro (blue line De Castelneau) out to St-Laurent street (near Ste-Zotique) and visit this cultural district. Even if you are on a budget, there are many affordable eats within the market itself or along St-Laurent Street.

These are some of my favourite things to do with my mom (Linda) when we have some time off. Remember, that everyone is happier and healthier on a full stomach!

1. 11051097_10153131369964450_1396368109_nVisit Milano’s: This is a traditional Italian grocery store with excellent an selection of cold cuts, cheeses, pastas, fruits and vegetables. I always buy my breakfast biscotti here.

2. Have an espresso at Caffè Epoca: You can’t go wrong by having a caffeine break! Remember, Italians usually have cappuccinos for breakfast–so don’t be surprised if the barista wonders why you want a cappuccino at 4pm. (Lol)

3. Grab a Zeppola at La Cornetteria.

Zeppole are delicious…I will provide a photo of one on my next visit.

4. 11056834_10153131369934450_548990022_nSupport our Portuguese cousins, after all, all Mediterranean cuisine is similar. Douro restaurant has AMAZING paella and guess what! They even have amazing prosciutto!

6. 11042633_10153131369844450_739712015_nVisit Jean-Talon Market to gather some fresh Québec produce!
