About

Cooking Italian is more than just a passtime, it’s colourful, exhilarating and most of all… è buono!  Mia sorella and I were blessed to spend most weekdays with both of our  Nonnas. These women, along with my grandfathers  Nonno and grand-papa (Poppa Roger) were extremely influential in shaping my culinary pallet, love for family, food, travel  and fun.

Nanny Jeannie “née Giovanna” with northern Italian roots, and Nonna Maria (di Campobasso, Mezzogiorno Southern Italy) always left me in awe with their homecooking. These two women, along with my mom Linda, have always encouraged me to make homemade pastas, risottos, and zuppe (soups) to name of few. My goal is to keep the fusion of northern and southern Italian flavours alive–without breaking the bank.

Often times, we are tempted by my mortal enemy –“fast food” but cooking all’italiana, at home or amongst friends and family is a nice way to rilassarsi or relax. I really started to practice more with my friends in Law school at the University of Ottawa. Squash risotto, or risotto alla zucca is a favourite dish that keeps us warm in the frigid Canadian winter. Law students are really talented in the culinary arts  (when they have the time of course). My girlfriends from Montréal encouraged me to archive some of these gastronomic delights, recipes and videos to come!!
